Owner Dick Ehrlich, (who also owns The Seafood Barge on Long Island’s North Fork), knows seafood, as evidenced by the fleet of local fishermen whom he has relied on for seafood since 1981. The Clam Bar also embodies the spirit of summer at the beach. Friends and families gather under the umbrellas at outdoor tables to relax after a day spent beachcombing or sightseeing. Shorts and sunglasses are required dress.
General Manager, Brian Mooney has been by Dick's side for over 10 years.
Brian, originally from Ireland, keeps the place ticking along. He opens as early as possible in the spring and has been known to serve clam chowder during the first snowfall of winter.
All of our fish and shellfish are purchased from local fishing boats and local baymen, if your lucky you'll see the cook carrying a whole swordfish over his shoulder into the kitchen where it'll be served fresh that day!
Enjoy roadside table service from our friendly waitstaff or if you prefer, you can sit at the bar and enjoy the show.
